The letters
Every Esperanto letter has its own Shavian letter except ŭ: the pairs aŭ and eŭ have their own signs, and a lone ŭ stays Latin. Shavian has no upper and lower case.

About the system
The Shavian alphabet is a phonetic alphabet for English, named after George Bernard Shaw. He left money for a prize for the best proposal, and Ronald Kingsley Read’s design won. In 1996–1997 John Wesley Starling adapted it to Esperanto. Because some of his signs for common endings are missing from Unicode, Johannes Genberg modified the system to fit the Unicode standard.
This tool uses its own custom adapted system. Its letters are Genberg’s, except that a lone ŭ stays Latin. The pairs aŭ and eŭ always become 𐑲 and 𐑱, and the words la, kaj, al, en, el, de are abbreviated to one sign each. More about Genberg’s system at sava.esperanto.one (in Esperanto).
Non-Esperanto letters (e.g. é, ü, q, w, y) and digits are left unchanged.
Shavian letters are displayed with the free Noto Sans Shavian font (SIL Open Font License 1.1).
